And diet soda drinkers tend to eat more high-calorie foods than people who drink alcohol or even sweetened drinks.

Approximately 11 percent of employees who consume lots of soda drinks are known to have protein in their urine while undergoing a follow-up test for three years. This result indeed shows that consuming soda can increase the risk of kidney damage.
